About THC diamonds

THC diamonds are called so because of their striking resemblance with the diamond gemstone. They are basically crystals created during the extraction of live resin from cannabis using a cold-extraction process and pressure. Diamonds that haven’t turned into THC yet are THCa crystals. They contain about 97% to 99% THCa. The rest includes other cannabinoids and terpenes, making these diamonds highly potent and pure. A THC diamond can be the size of a grain or a rock weighing several grams.

Unlike THC, THCa is an inactive cannabinoid. It’s a non-psychoactive variant of THC that you need to heat up to transform into the compound that gets you high. You’ll need a vaporizer or dab rig to smoke the rock.

The Selling Methods

Herbal wellness brands sell diamond-badder THC in several ways, which makes the word “THC diamond” an inclusive term. They form in several ways and differ in potency based on how manufacturers extract and process the substance.

Some brands sell diamonds in a saucy extract containing a high concentration of terpenes and label it “diamond sauce.” Others sold without sauce are THCa diamonds. Even after bearing a tag of purity, these diamonds may contain inactive THCa that you must heat to experience the high.

The Potency Aspect

As already mentioned, THC diamonds are highly potent cannabis concentrates containing almost 99% THCa. Most people take this substance to manage resilient medical conditions that can’t be treated with pharmaceuticals. Nonetheless, these diamonds are incredibly popular in the market of recreational THC for their effects, giving users a flavorful, pleasant, and comfortable high.

The manufacturing processes

Just like the gem, THC diamonds form under immense pressure. Before that, the manufacturers must extract the resin from the plant using a cold-extraction process. Then, they add pressure to the oil via a chromatography machine until they get the crystals. It’s just the first half of the method, which is akin to making live resin. Wax diamonds, on the other hand, are crafted using freshly harvested flash-frozen cannabis to save the integrity of the terpenes, trichomes, and cannabinoids.

Method 1

The closed-loop extraction method involves using a liquid solvent to separate the THC from terpenes and vice versa from plant residue. This system leaves small quantities of the solvent behind to supersaturate a solution with THCa. Later, manufacturers purge this solvent for a few days, during which the diamonds form.

Method 2

The crystalline method is very much like making rock candy. Manufacturers mix THC isolate with a solvent to create a supersaturated solution. Then, they apply heat and pressure to it. Once the diamonds form, the solvent evaporates. Finally, manufacturers will reintroduce the specific strain’s terpenes or another terpene sauce to create diamond-badder THC sauce.

Smoking the diamonds

As dab diamonds contain THCa, you won’t feel anything until you heat them to convert THCa to THC. Nothing works better than dabbing or vaporizing THC when it comes to smoking them. Fortunately, both processes are almost similar.

Load the diamond on a dab tool and add some terp sauce in a preheated quartz banger. If you’re dabbing or vaporizing, you may cold-start the process by adding the concentrate and heating the vaporizer or banger around it until the substance starts vaporizing. At this point, cap it with a carb cap and start inhaling.

Are they safe?

Generally, it’s safe to smoke THC diamonds. Of course, inhaling something other than oxygen tends to be harmful in one way or another. Nonetheless, THC diamonds won’t add anything to your lungs other than a little residual resin. They’re extremely potent, though. Just don’t smoke too much at once.
